I heard three different Pastors, in three different states, preach the same Word that God had given them, on Sunday February 4, 2024.  Now, they didn’t use the same scriptures or even speak the same words, but it was the same message.

God is speaking to His people, as long as we have breath inside of us, or as Pastor Robert Morris said, “as long as you can still fog up a mirror” God still wants to have a relationship with you, there is still potential for you, you can still make an impact for the Kingdom of God.

Colossians 1:16-17 says “For by him all things were created,  both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-all things have been created through Him and for Him.  He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”

Then Colossians 3:3 says “For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God”

In Ephesians 3 Paul asked the Ephesians not to loose heart at his tribulations on their behalf, he bows his knee and prays to the Father that he would grant the Ephesians, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in their hearts through faith, and that they being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us.

God made us, in His image for fellowship with Him, He is the one that holds all things together.  Once we die and are born again, our life is now hidden with Christ in God, sitting at the right hand of the father.

In the OT, the Holy Spirit came upon them for a time being and then left.  We now have the Holy Spirit with us “AT ALL TIMES, LIVING INSIDE OF US.”

He is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.

I think most of us, have only scratched the surface when it comes to the understanding of God’s love for us.  He sent his son to die, to take the beating, the punishment, the agony, we deserved, so that we could have a relationship with Him.

Do you want to know what God has planned for your life?  Then you need to pursue a relationship with Jesus Christ. I’m not saying you have to be perfect, I am saying you have to Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and mind.  Jesus said the second commandment was like it, Love your neighbor as yourself.  I don’t believe you can follow the second commandment if you haven’t followed the first.  We can’t love our neighbor if God’s love is not in us and living through us.

God gave us the Holy Spirit as a helper, when the Holy Spirit is living inside of us, He will check us from time to time.  I’m reminded of the new cars that have the lane assist, any of you have those?  When you start to get to close to the sides of the lane your in, then you start to feel a rumble in the car and the steering wheel.

Ever do something and immediately feel guilty, or find yourself in unpleasant circumstances, or a loss of peace in your life?  That is the same thing as the lane assist on new cars.  The Holy Spirit is saying, “Hey, you’ve stepped out of your lane, you need to come back over into the straight and narrow.”

Hebrews 12:6 tells us that those whom the LORD loves, he disciplines, and He scourges every sone whom he receives.

Now, there may still be consequences to our actions, we may still have to deal with things that our sin caused, but that doesn’t mean that God doesn’t love us, God isn’t angry with us, sure He may be disappointed, but he is still there to pick us up and say, lets go, lets move forward, lets continue to walk together, lets continue to run this race together.

He chastises us so that we don’t get too out of alignment and slide right off the road and into the ditch.  Our we listening to him though and accepting that correction, or do we just keep going the way we’re going.

We all know what happens when our tires are out of alignment, right? They begin to wear funny, we humans do the same thing if we’re not in alignment with God’s word and will for our life.  What happens when one of the weights is knocked off the tires on your car? It begins to wobble and shake the whole car.  What happens when we as Christians pick up extra weight or baggage that we shouldn’t be carrying, we will begin to wobble.

In Galatians 5:9 Pauls says “A little leaven will leaven the whole lump.”

A little extra weight/baggage, that God didn’t intend for you, can really make you out of alignment with God.

Let’s take a look at David and Bathsheba.  Listening to one of the sermons I listened to today, I learned something I had never seen before.  It wasn’t just aldutry that David committed, I mean we all know that he was also a murderer and he lived in this sin for over 9 months because in Chapter 12, Nathan came unto David to call him out, after the Child was born.  But listening to a sermon today, did you realize that, this wasn’t just a fling, a one night stand he had with her?

As I said, David didn’t just sleep with Bathsheba, he waited 7-8 days and then waited for her to go to Church and sacrifice before he slept with her.  This was premeditated.  Even strong men of God, A man after God’s own heart, can falter.  A little leaven, can leaven the whole lump.

That’s why it is so important to keep our minds on things above and not the things of this world.  I spoke last week of always needing a fresh new anointing of the Holy Spirit to get us through this life, we can’t get that, if we aren’t seeking a relationship with Jesus Christ.

I mentioned earlier that God is not angry with you if you falter, but He will be displeased, 2 Samuel 11:27 tells us “The thing David had done displeased the LORD.”  This means, it actually broke God’s heart.

Nathan gave David a story in Chapter 12 and David told Nathan that the guy in the story should die. Then Nathan Prophesied in 2 Samuel 12:7-9:
“Nathan then said to David, you are the man! Thus says the Lord God of Israel, it is I who anointed you king over Israel adn it is I who delivered you from teh hand of Saul.  I also gave you your master’s house and your master’s wives into your care, and I gave you the house of Israel and Judah; and if that had been to little, I would have added to you many more things like these!

God reminded David what he had already done, for him and then even said, “if that isn’t enough, I would have given you more, if it will keep you in alignment and in the narrow path, in the correct lane.”

Folks, God loves us and is wanting a relationship with us, he wants to show us what his plans are for us, plans to prosper us, give us a future and a hope.

David Repented and in Chapter 12 verse 13 Nathan told David, “The LORD also has taken away your sin; you shall not die.”

If we will just repent if need be, God will bring us back and cast our sins away and not remember them.  Satan remembers them and tries to bring them up to us and make us feel not worthy.

I personally don’t care for the saying, “I’m just a sinner saved by grace.”  In this saying, we are giving satan a lot of credit that he doesn’t deserve, which is exactly what satan wants.

NO, YOU ARE A CHILD OF THE KING WHO MADE EVERYTHING.

Dallas Holm sang a song that says:
Verse 1
God, it must have broke your heart
to send Your Son away
knowin all the time
the final price He’d have to pay
Left His home in glory
And became a common man
And because He did, I am what I am

Chorus
Well, I’m a Child of the King
Who made everything
I’m a son of the One
Who makes my heart to sing
Songs of Joy, songs of praise
I’ll sing them all I can
To the one who came
And made me what I am

I think we need to quit saying, I’m a sinner saved by grace, I’m an adulterer, I’m an alcoholic, I’m a drug addict, etc. etc. etc.

Why don’t we begin to say, “I’m a Child of The King, who made everything!”

It’s only because of Him that I am what I am, that I can sing songs of Joy and songs of praise.

God is calling us to find our life in Him, to find out what our calling is in Him and he has given us a helper that lives inside of us, and a road map that we can have with us at all times: The Bible.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve fallen, tripped or whatever the case is.  In Acts Chapter 13 verse 22, it says “I have found David, the son of Jesse, A Man after my Heart, who will do all my will.”

Then in verse 36, it says “For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep, and was laid among his fathers and underwent decay.”

David faltered, but repented, God forgave him and he went on to serve God’s purpose in his generation.

Just remember, if you can still fog up a mirror, God still has a plan for you and can still use you and still wants to have a relationship with you.

When we allow the Holy Spirit to keep us in the correct lane and in alignment with God, there is no end to what God can accomplish through us.
